October 2003 Hello to all our wonderful
Cinna-Minnies newsletter
subscribers! The September Newsletter really touched a lot of hearts and for
that I am grateful. And I ask you to remember one more time that October is
National Breast Cancer Awareness, so please make a donation to your favorite
charity.
Well, fall has arrived quite definitely, and it’s time to start decorating
your home for the Halloween season! I know it’s not a "real" holiday, but it
can be such a fun day for the whole family . . . your children or
grandchildren fascinated by the site of scarecrows, pumpkins, hay bales,
ghosts and goblins artfully posed throughout your home and yard . . . all the
little trick-or-treaters coming to your door, awed by an appropriately
decorated entry way (and maybe a little scary music!) . . .
Cinna-Minnies has perfect little touches for your Halloween
décor . . . take a look at our
Pumpkin and Blackbird Ornament and the
Hannah Loves Halloween doll,
We hope you’ll love them as much as we do!

Advice From Carol Daly Of
The Creative Enterprises Network
(you can visit all their great member sites at
http://www.asmallbusinessdirectory.com).
We are able to keep in constant contact with other small business owners
through our discussion group, and when we have a question we need answered, or
a suggestion to solve a problem, we can usually get some assistance within a
few minutes to an hour. It’s a valuable resource for those of us who’ve chosen
to work in this relatively new "cyber" marketplace. Carol Daly is the
entrepreneur who started The Creative Enterprises Network, and I asked her to
tell you a little bit about it and her motivation for getting it started:
"The Creative Enterprises Network (CE) grew as an off-shoot of my writing
business which offers services to business owners. I had a desire to create a
community where online entrepreneurs could work in much the same way I've
always worked in my local community -- sharing resources, collaborating, and
cross promoting -- utilizing a "work together to grow together" concept (much
like your local Chamber of Commerce).
Our members all operate traditional businesses like those in your hometown
-- and have the same concerns. Having previously worked in diverse areas,
including local government and non-profits, and volunteering on various
non-profit committees and boards, I understood how "every piece of the whole"
must come together cohesively to help a community grow. As CE members who've
grasped this concept have found, it's a system that works if you participate
fully, share openly, and strive to help others while helping yourself.
CE has grown to be a wonderful place to come to work every day! And I'm
thrilled to have had the opportunity to make it happen."
Carol’s suggestion for those who are just starting their own small or
home-based business: "As a help to others who may wish to start their own
business and need a starting point, I would suggest visiting
www.myownbusiness.org.
It's a non-profit free course on everything from writing a business plan to
marketing your business, and everything in between. And you can’t ask for a
better price than FREE!"
Carol Daly now also offers her writing services along with three other
writers at NewsReleasesAndMore.com . Additionally, she is
also a retailer with several retail sites, including one that serves crafters
who wish to gain additional exposure for their products, or who don’t have
their own web sites:
CountryVillageMall.com
And the truly "fun" part of her network of business
sites are her children’s gift and toy sites at
SunsationalKids.com
and DaddysToyShop.com

Just a bit of wit and wisdom to close
October Newsletter.....whether you are a Christian, Jew, or of any other
faith, I believe that all good people will benefit from this little gem.......
A woman was asked by a co-worker, "What is
it like to be a Christian?" The co-worker replied, "It is like being a
pumpkin. God picks you from the patch, brings you in, and washes all the dirt
off of you. Then He cuts off the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff. He
removes the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc., and then He carves you a new
smiling face and puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to
see."
This was passed on to me from a friend Now,
it is your turn to pass it to a friend.
That’s it for this month! Until next time,
